"The
Main House"
The
second floor of the “Main House” features two large bedrooms
with queen beds and vaulted ceilings. These bedrooms each
have its own bathroom. Wide garden doors open to a large wood
balcony overlooking the beach and ocean. Here you can relax
in hammocks, the wicker chaise lounge or work out with the
self contained exercise equipment and afterward, take advantage
of Montezuma’s expert masseuses on your own private massage
table. The first floor features a living area that includes
Direct TV, DVD, and a music speaker system inside and out.
The fully equipped kitchen has a refrigerator with filtered
water and ice maker with extra portable ice machine for entertaining
larger groups. There is a gas range and oven. Small appliances
include toaster oven, blender, microwave, bread machine and
coffee maker. Dishes, glassware, cookware and linens are provided.
House has hot water throughout. The first floor bedroom/den
is air conditioned and has internet access upon request. This
space has a double bed and its own full bath. Additional air
circulation is provided inside and out by 10 ceiling fans.
The “Main House” is surrounded by a14 foot wide veranda. Outside
dining area includes a 4 by 10 foot dining table that accommodates
10 Costa Rican leather rocking chairs. The front veranda features
a wicker chaise lounge and hammock for reading and relaxing.
The side patio, that faces swimming pool and waterfall have
wicker chairs and ottomans. Rear patio provides laundry and
pool changing area with half bath. The outdoor kitchen includes
bar, with 6 bar stools, a five burner, stainless steal gas
BBQ, sink and small refrigerator. This area is shaded with
a 20 by 24 foot sun roof. The tile, 2 level swimming pool,
fed by a waterfall features a center island with shady palm
tree.
"The
Beach House "
Just steps from the beach, this lovely
two bedroom Beach House sleeps up to six people.
The first floor has a fully equipped kitchen with large refrigerator
and gas range with oven. Small appliances include blender,
coffee maker, toaster and micro wave. Glass ware, dishes,
cookware and kitchen linens are provided.
The inside living area, features a large wicker sofa with
a built in
trundle bed that can be used to sleep two people.
The first floor bedroom suite has its own light and airy bathroom
with hot water shower. This Air Conditioned bedroom and bath
is surrounded by windows giving you views of the pool, beach
and jungle. The double bed is made up with quality linens.
The second floor has a large loft bedroom over looking the
beach and surf. This bedroom has a luxurious queen size bed
surrounded by beautifully crafted wood floor, ceiling and
walls. Breezes off the ocean and ceiling fan circulate the
fabulous marine air, keeping you comfortable day and night.
The second bathroom also has hot water and is equipped with
a washing machine.
The front veranda has an eating area with table and comfortable
seating. Also on the front veranda is a gas BBQ especially
nice for socializing, or you can just lie in one of the hammocks
and watch the waves.
The two level swimming pool is wonderful for small kids as
well as adults.
Pool maintenance, housekeeper and gardeners are on site to
care for your needs.

"The
Tree House"
This second story living area is perfect for bird watchers
and animal lovers alike.
There are two good size bedrooms, each with its own tiled,
light and airy bathroom.
Each room has a double bed and surround windows to view monkeys
in the trees.
The bedrooms open onto a large covered veranda featuring the
outdoor kitchen and dining area. The kitchen includes cook
top range, refrigerator and sink. Blender, coffee maker, toaster,
cookware, dishes and glassware are provided as well as all
linens.
The 2 level, tile swimming pool is perfect for cooling down
after a days hike in the jungle or on the beach.

Looking
for a romantic, off-the-beaten track place to really
get away from it all? You just found it!
Built in late 2007 alongside the original Rancho (see
below), the 30 square meter Rancho II - is constructed
largely out of rich teak wood from a nearby teak farm…a
renewable resource. Rancho II includes a private bedroom
with a double bed, and a compact half-bath within the
bedroom itself. The bedroom faces the jungle, and when
the folding doors are opened you can hear the relaxing
sounds of the river twenty meters below in the river
gorge. A small patio is off the back of the bedroom,
facing the gorge…a nice place for an early morning
cup of rich Costa Rican coffee brewed in the kitchen
coffee maker. Rancho II also features a well-equipped
kitchen with a four-burner propane stove/oven, a small
electric toaster oven, double stainless steel sink and
a medium sized refrigerator. Plates, utensils and cookware
are included. Concrete floors are easy to keep clean
and the concrete counter tops provide ample work space.
A full bathroom with shower is off the main room. A
propane heater provides hot water for the bathrooms
and kitchen. Three multi-speed ceiling fans - bedroom,
kitchen and lounge area - deliver continuous air circulation
on those rare days when there is no breeze. Security
features include a locking steel storage compartment
large enough for several laptops, 35mm or digital cameras,
passports and other valuable items. The corner of Rancho
II facing the original Rancho is open, and connects
visually with the corresponding open space which is
the first floor of Rancho I. The two buildings are separated
by a small, triangular area landscaped with crushed
stone, plants and tiles.
Rancho
I - the original SweetBreezes - is constructed in
classic Costa Rican post and beam "Rancho"
style and is approximately 4.5 x 7 meters. The first
floor is completely open and includes a lounge area,
a small kitchen with its own refrigerator, two burner
propane stove, a sink, and a bathroom with shower and
toilet. The second floor has a bedroom with a double
bed and a single bed in the same room, complemented
with a two-speed ceiling fan. A small balcony with comfortable
seating affords an eagle's-eye view of the jungle and
a little slice of the Pacific Ocean. The bedroom faces
east and its occupants get to see the sun rise and depending
on the cycle, the moon rise at the foot of their bed!
Sunrise is somewhere around 6 AM, since we are only
about nine degrees north of the Equator.
SweetBreezes
will accommodate up to five people in both buildings:
two in the newer Rancho II and three in the older Rancho
I. Linens and towels are furnished. Although they have
independent utilities and are separated by a small stone
patio, the two buildings function as a single unit.
The two kitchens allow fairly complex meals to be assembled,
and/or quantities of cold beverages to be stored. Because
of the steep terrain surrounding the property we must
unfortunately limit children to those over 14 years
old.
Over
120 of Costa Rica's 800+ bird species have been seen
on the SweetBreezes property and if you are so inclined,
our expert on-site managers can organize a bird watching
expedition with you. Other wildlife usually on the grounds
include Capuchin and Howler Monkeys, hummingbirds and
parrots, a variety of butterflies, armadillos, White
Nosed Coati, Variegated Squirrels, White Tailed Deer,
several types of bats, Geckos, Iguanas, frogs and toads
and many other animals.
